PAINTING - Bugs & Other Monsters
Bugs can be amazing! Your child will start by creating a whimsical bug painting and then transform the painting into a 3-dimensional artwork. Students will learn how to expand on a simple idea, taking their painting into the realm of sculpture. GRADES: 1st – 3rd June 13 - June 16, 2017 (4 days)

CREATING A CARTOON STRIP
Develop your love of cartooning into a humorous and exciting “Strip”. Learn traditional methods for creating a six-panel cartoon that describes a story. Special illustration techniques will become part of your cartooning abilities. GRADES: 4th – 6th June 20 – June 23, 2017 (4 days)

DRAWING - Machines, Robots & UFO’s
Students will expand their drawing skills, with a variety of media, while exploring new ways to draw machines, robots and UFO’s. What fun each student will have as they use their imagination to develop their unique ideas. GRADES: 1st – 3rd June 27 – June 30, 2017 (4 days)

SCULPTING A “BIRD ON A PERCH”
Children will explore ways to sculpt their own unique and fanciful flying bird. Using paper mache, wire, feathers, cloth and other mixed media each student will be able to show the drama found in their own imagination. Each sculpted creation will end up “perched” as if ready to take flight. GRADES: 4th – 6th July 11 – July 14, 2017 (4 days)

ASSEMBLAGE - Gnomes, Elves & Goblins
We all know of the imaginary inhabitants of the forest that exist in fairy tales and folklore. Our younger students will be guided through steps to create a large format collage featuring their personal forest dwellers in their natural habitat. GRADES: 1st – 3rd July 18 – July 21, 2017 (4 days)

LANDSCAPE PAINTING
This painting class goes well beyond standard landscape as we explore panoramic images and vertical towering landscapes. We will be going outdoors, and to the City Park, for “plein air” painting as the weather might permit. GRADES: 4th – 6th July 25 – July 28, 2017 (4 days)
